Privacy and Personal Data Protection

The Walloon Public Service has been working towards compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) since February 2017.

The existing data protection policy, in accordance with the law of December 8, 1992, on the protection of privacy, has therefore been strengthened.

 

Data Controller

The controller of personal data processing relating to this website is Isabelle QUOILIN, Director General of the General Operational Directorate for the Economy, Employment, and Research (DGO6) of the Walloon Public Service.

Principles governing the collection of personal data

In principle, access to the information available on or via the website is provided without the need to provide personal data, such as name, postal address, email address, etc.

Exceptionally, to obtain additional services (ordering documents, subscribing to a newsletter, or asking questions by email or via the 1718, etc.), personal information, primarily contact details, may be requested from the user. In this case, the user is notified in advance, and the data is processed in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data (GDPR).

 

In concrete terms, this means in particular that:

·         Your personal data may only be collected and processed in accordance with the purposes indicated at the time of collection;

·         You have the right to check whether your data is processed by the SPW, via the form on the Wallonia Portal.

·         You have the right to consult your personal data, if necessary, in order to check their accuracy and to have any errors corrected by the person responsible for processing your data, whose contact details are given above;

·         SPW undertakes to take the best possible security measures to prevent third parties from misusing the personal data you have provide

 

Use of browsing information for statistical purposes

When you access the site, the servers consulted automatically collect the following data:

 

This information is kept for the sole purpose of measuring the number of visitors to the various sections of the portal site and making improvements. The reports we produce show only anonymized data, while the data collected is destroyed.

 

Use of Cookies

In order to facilitate your navigation on the site (to save your preferences or to avoid you having to repeat the same entries on each visit) and to optimize the technical management of the site, the Walloon Public Service may occasionally use “cookies”, usually for the duration of a visit.

A “cookie” is a small piece of information stored by a website in your computer's Internet browser.

This cookie can be retrieved during a subsequent visit to the same site. A cookie cannot be read by a website other than the one that created it.

 

Use of electronic mailboxes

The e-mail boxes at your disposal are managed by the Corporate Networks Department (081/33.39.39 or dre.dgeer@spw.wallonie.be).

The personal data collected following your contact will only be used to follow up your file or to direct you to information available on public sites or to the relevant government departments. Messages of a political nature will be redirected to the Government or Minister's website.

Messages are answered within two working days, with the exception of requests that cannot be answered directly on a public website.

A Data Protection Officer, Thomas LEROY, has been appointed to advise SPW on the rules governing the protection of personal data and to ensure that they are complied with.
