The Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) is a multisite university at the forefront of innovation and excellence in education and research. The Institute of Mechanics, Materials and Civil Engineering (IMMC) and the Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences (IMCN) bring together expertise in the development, accredited characterisation tests and digital simulation of new composite materials with thermoset or thermoplastic matrices, from a full life-cycle perspective. IMCN's Bio- and Soft-Matter (BSMA) research cluster provides recognised expertise in polymer science (supramolecular chemistry, polymerisation processes, self-assembly, controlled synthesis of functional polymers, etc.), supported by a range of manufacturing and characterisation techniques (thermal, rheological, mechanical, etc.) available on the Polymer Processing and Characterisation (P2C) platform.
