Liège, June 10, 2021 - Always keen to develop collaborative research & development activities, the Swiss Plastics Cluster and Plastiwin are joining forces to develop their international collaboration.

Plastiwin is the Walloon cluster bringing together players specializing in polymers and biopolymers, elastomers, composite materials and synthetic textiles. In 11 years, Plastiwin is proud to have contributed to the development of the Walloon Region: 127 members, 10,469 direct jobs, more than € 2.5 billion in turnover…. With an active role in sectors such as health and medical, construction and housing, electrical engineering applications, transport, the environment including the recovery of recycled materials, and many more!

The Swiss Plastics Cluster now has more than 100 members who are divided into four categories: industry, commerce, training and other. With its 15 years of existence, the cluster has contributed to the influence of the whole of Switzerland in the plastics industry at the international level and maintains active collaborations with other organizations of the same type in the European space.

The goal of this collaboration is to improve the competitiveness and productivity of our members through the active promotion of plastics technology, to promote public-private partnerships, to offer continuous training adapted to staff, to create opportunities for networking and business among members and providing high value added services.

 

Through this merger, we want to connect our members in order to create innovation and business opportunities: development of new projects, new products, exploration of new markets, etc.

Ours members

All companies with production, processing and technical distribution activities related to this value chain can apply to join the cluster as full members. Professional associations, research centers, schools, competence and training centers, etc. can apply for membership, in support of business development.

Our missions

  • Strengthen the economic, technological and commercial potential of our members through an approach based on value chains and networking.
  • Promote "business development" and innovation (make projects emerge, support the marketing, industrialization and promotion
  • Meet the demands of current markets (bring together, combine and strengthen technological skills, facilitate technology transfers).
  • Facilitate access to contractors (give visibility to the value chain and communicate on Walloon technological potential).
  • Prepare for the future and position oneself on promising markets (informing and communicating, anchoring oneself in cutting-edge technologies).

Our other mission is to be at the service of regional industrial policy and to contribute to the development of our economy. To do this, we focus on creating added value and jobs, we communicate on the potential of our value chain and pass on its needs, we offer sectoral expertise to institutional players and play the role of interface between them and industrialists.
