A PERMIT REQUEST HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO EXTEND ON THE EQUIVALENT OF A FOOTBALL FIELD.
Located in the Plenesses zoning in Thimister-Clermont, the Armacell Benelux company has applied for a permit for the construction and operation of a production and storage hall and the installation of two new extrusion lines.
Objective: to increase its production capacity. The company hopes to get a favorable response and be able to use its new facilities by the end of 2020.
In recent years, the company Armacell Benelux, whose head office is located in Thimister-Clermont in the Plenesses zoning, has continued to grow.
The company specializes in recycling plastic bottles into building components. Whether in the wind energy sector, for construction or even transport.
In full development, it is now limited in terms of its production capacity and therefore intends to expand. An application for a single permit for a new plant for the extrusion and molding of plastic products has been submitted to the competent authorities.
A public inquiry is underway and the written observations can be sent to the municipal administration of Thimister-Clermont. The company hopes to obtain a favorable response for this permit application because it needs to build these new facilities to increase its production capacity.
"We have applied for a single permit to create two new industrial halls on our Thimister site", explains Bertrand Denoël, CFO of the Armacell company.
“We don't have enough space for our production capacity at the moment.
We are fortunate to have land that we own here in Thimister next to our headquarters. We would like to be able to create these halls in order to increase our production capacity and benefit from a new area of nearly 7,500m2 (note: the equivalent of the area of a football field). Furthermore, we hope to be able to obtain a favorable response for the permit. The machines are already purchased. "
The company's objective is to be able to use these new machines and new halls by the end of 2020. But that will depend on the response time to this permit request.
1.5 BILLION BOTTLES
Last December, we revealed to you that the Armacell company had recycled a billion bottles since its creation.
A little over three months later, the company is now at nearly 1.5 billion recycled bottles, according to its sales director, Henri Chapelle. Simply impressive numbers.
Armacell Benelux also has a production line in China and another in Canada
THE COMPANY IS RUNNING DESPITE CORONAVIRUS
Despite the coronavirus, the company continues to operate even if there is logically an impact.
Now most of the employees are telecommuting and production continues to operate. Social distancing measures are well respected between workers and there is therefore no reason for the company to close its doors even if there is an unprecedented health crisis.
