What is Circular Design in Plastics ?

With the support of the Recovery Plan for Wallonia, and as part of the Walloon circular economy strategy Circular Wallonia, Canopea (previously Inter-Environnement Wallonie), Denuo, essenscia, Greenwin and Plastiwin launch the "Circular Design in Plastics" initiative.

This initiative merges mesures 53 and 56 of Circular Wallonia, aimed at improving separability in multi-material products and purification techniques in recycling, and at developing guides for eco-design.

The aim of this initiative is to enable companies in the sectors of production, mixing, transformation, use and recycling of plastics and composites, to meet their challenges in terms of Circular Design and thus gain in competitiveness.

Approved by the Walloon government on May 25th, the initiative was launched at the Kick-off event on May 31, 2022 at IFAPME in Gembloux, as part of the “Quinzaine de l’économie circulaire”. Since then, several actions are being organized, such as events to train companies in eco-design (conferences and workshops) and assistance to companies in the form of audits and calls for expressions of interest.
