POLYPEA

Launched in early 2020, PolyPea is a start-up with the ambition to develop and produce bio-based and biodegradable bioplastic materials based on waste or co-products from the food industry, in particular pea starch, to meet the need. replacing petroleum-based plastics with environmentally sustainable alternatives. Their purpose is to reduce the use of fossil resources and protect the environment from plastic pollution, both in the soil and the oceans and for biodiversity.

Currently in the research and development process, they aim to offer 100% biobased and 100% biodegradable thermoplastic granules, or even edible and soluble in water. These can be used for the manufacture of films for packaging applications in the chemical, sanitary, food or even medical fields.
