Definition of Business Clusters

Support the economic development of SMEs, network them and integrate them into their known and future ecosystems, with the objective of developing the ecosystems in which these SMEs operate, by promoting innovation and creativity while respecting a sustainable growth responding in particular to environmental and societal challenges.

The governance

The cluster policy is governed by a decree in force since July 1, 2024. This decree provides supervision by an Examination Committee and a Monitoring and Support Committee. The business clusters, as well as the clustering policy itself, are subject to an independent triennial evaluation.

Funding

Wallonia financially supports the operational units of the clusters. To do this, the cluster or cluster candidate must submit an application meeting a series of criteria.
