AQUALE SPRL is an independent consulting firm based in Wallonia that was founded in 2002, with an independent and private shareholder base. AQUALE SPRL is mainly composed of civil engineers (with a Geology and Mining focus), geologists, and mineralogists, whose extensive experience is complemented by that of our sister company, ECOFOX SA.
AQUALE SPRL provides:
-Scientific expertise and methodological know-how that is recognized by many public and private actors in Belgium and abroad
-Comprehensive assistance that is focused on solutions. We work closely with our clients to define and optimize all possible tools to develop a coherent, pragmatic, and economically sustainable environmental management system. Our main activities are:
-Groundwater management and applied hydrogeology
-Modeling of groundwater flows, pollution flows, and heat transfers
-Recovery of subsurface resources (groundwater, quarries, heat)
-Geothermal energy in open and closed systems
-Geophysical prospection and imaging
-Hydraulic and geotechnical containment
-Permitting (EIA for categories 3, 6 and 7)
-Studies of contaminated soils and aquifers
Thanks to our comprehensive and integrated approach, we are able to provide financially and technically optimized solutions for exploiting groundwater/surface water resources as geothermal or hydrothermal energy.
AQUALE SPRL can provide the following services:
-Geological and geophysical exploration for pre-feasibility studies
-Monitoring of drilling activities
-Numerical modeling of ground heat transfers
-Thermal response monitoring and tests
-Hydro-geophysical monitoring (e.g. electric resistivity that is directly related to temperature)
-Dimensioning of geothermal loop fields and dipole geothermal wells
-The WALL-Hy-PAC project submitted in March 2014 in response to the GreenWin cluster's 11th call for tenders: Groundwater energy recovery using geothermal systems with water-water heat pumps (or simply heat exchangers), groundwater collection wells, reinjection wells, aquifer thermal energy storage unit(s), etc.
-SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) SCRL (2012 - to present): feasibility study of local hydrothermal potential; a single permit application for a pilot plant at LA HULPE; construction of a pilot plant for a data cooling center; dimensioning of a cooling unit using heat exchangers.
-Energy recovery project for a water catchment area to allow a public utility to heat and cool an entire neighborhood using a heating and cooling network.
