College-level, continued education, public awareness of sciences, schools of higher Education, biotechnology, biology, biopharmacy Culture in vivo (formerly Nivelles-Laboratoires) is a small not-for-profit organisation dedicated to public awareness of science and continued education in the fields of biology and biotechnology. The targeted publics include i) the general public, ii) children in primary and secondary schools, iii) students at college levels in collaboration with schools of higher education, iv) jobs seekers (unemployed persons); iii) employed personal looking for new competences in biotechnology and biopharmacy, including regulatory affairs. We organise conferences on topics of general interest (i.e. H1N1 vaccination in 2009). Jobs seekers may be given a formal training for 4 or 8 weeks on recent biotechnology techniques in collaboration with FOREM-Formation. In parallel we have a small research activity on host parasite relationship and endosymbiosis using monogentic trypanosomatids in garden flies as a model. The results have been presented at national scientific conferences. We also collaborate with other research groups on various topics.
