What is RSS?
A RSS flow is a summary, updated on a regular basis, of a Web content with the links allowing to consult the full version of this content.
Using the flows of the portal of the Walloon clusters
The RSS flow available on the portal of the Clusters can be used in two ways:
- By cybernauts willing to be kept informed of the updates of a web site (the news, a new event,...) :
They will have the opportunity to subscribe to a flow through a RSS reader (programme allowing to read RSS files; Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox directly integrate it).
This programme will then offer, as soon as a new content appears on the site, a summary of it, and the opportunity to consult the concerned pages if the subscriber to the flow is interested in the topic. - By webmasters willing to integrate the content of the informations of the RSS flow into their own web site, so as to feed it automatically (provided the management tool of their Web site fetches the import of RSS format flows).
