The College for Dynamics and Vibrations is busy in engineering and research in two main sectors: on the one hand the digital simulations of the dynamic behaviour of multibody systems and on the other hand the analysis of experimental vibrations. Thanks to multiple industrial co operations existing for more than 10 years, we have digital tools and the appropriate knowledge to create digital simulations of comfort and stability of vehicles with tyres or driving on rails. These tools are necessary to work on the pre-project phase of a vehicle building (defining the best suspension system, the structure of the vehicle…) or to change existing vehicles to improve their dynamic behaviour (transmission, shock absorbers…). We also use optimization tools to adapt the vehicle's design according to several criteria related among others to the dynamic behaviour. We also have the means to measure vibrations (shakers, accelerometers, strain gauges, modal analysis…). We can therefore analyze the vibrations of operating systems as well as having their modal analysis (measuring the vibrations and the comfort of a vehicle on tyres or on rails, modal analysis of body).
